VALIDATED TRAINING General Hypnotherapy Standards Council

This Practitioner Training in Hypnosis with NLP offered by abetterlife has been assessed and validated at Foundation Level by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK).

This is the highest level of certification as validated via the GHSC. You will be fully qualified as a practitioner in the UK to begin practice as a hypnotherapist. Of course, I recommend that you continue to develop your skills, join a practice group, and make an arrangement for supervision. 

Description and requirements

To achieve this level, the GHSC require not less than 120 hours classroom / personal tuition, and 450 hours study in total. In delivering this length of training, a great many hypnosis schools in the UK build on their core training with what you might say is a repetitive collection of basically similar hypnotherapy techniques. This  ends up feeling more like 'padding' rather than new material. I believe in delivering a more 'in-depth' understanding of how therapy with hypnosis actually works, so that you really get to know what you are doing. At this level, you appreciate the commonality of the approaches to almost any kind of presenting problem. 

To this end, I advocate learning NLP and Time Line Therapy^® techniques as part of your training. By combining these skills with your Hypnosis training, I believe you will work more efficiently, effectively and quickly with your clients. You will complete  two levels of training in hypnosis (Foundation and Diploma), and one of NLP (Practitioner in NLP and Time Line Therapy). The additional benefit is that you graduate with not only one, but three separate certifications, as follows: 

1. Certification as Practitioner in Clinical Hypnosis with NLP through the GHSC
2. Certified Practitioner in NLP by the ABNLP
3. Certified Practitioner of Time Line Therapy® through the Time Line Therapy Association !

You can choose to study the NLP and Time Line Therapy^® Practitioner component at any time during your Hypnosis training. 

Just a footnote: there are some training institutes which offer a hypnosis certification as part of their NLP Practitioner training. Usually this comprises no more than a few days training in hypnosis, and very little of the strategies of using hypnosis for therapy. This is fine as an introduction to hypnotic phenomena but in my experience, not sufficient if you really want to learn the proper use of hypnosis for therapy.
